Since version 1.9
IBI-aws provides a new Active Directory Browser. It has new
features such as searching in specific organizational units and listings.
Search Term
The search term is part of the name, login name or display
name of an item. When you start the search the Active Directory will be
searched for listings which begin with the selected search term.
Search several terms simultaneously
The new Active Directory Browser allows you to search for several terms simultaneously. The terms have to be separated by a semicolon. The results will be listed altogether in the result list.
Search Settings
The current search settings will be listed below the search term input field. 4 symbols will show you in which category (user, groups, computer, organization units) the search is currently taking place. Behind this information you will find the domain or organization unit in which the search is taking place. With the link Change... you can configure the search settings.
Category
Within the search settings you can select the category to be
searched. Remove the tick in front of a category if you do not want listings of
this category in your search result.
Entry Point
Have a look at the schema of the tree that will help you to
understand the structure of your Active Directory. Topmost you will always find
the complete index and directly below every domain available. Within the domain
you will find organization units. You can now select an element within the tree
to start your search from.
Search Results
After the search you will receive a list of all appropriate
items considering the search settings that have been found within the Active
Directory.

- Search for one or more items.
- Mark the items within the list that you would like to take over.
- Click the Select button.
Tip: If you would like to take over a single item out of the result list you can doubleclick it.
Taking over items from several searches
The new Active Directory Browser is designed in a way that a
search of more than one listing is simplified. This design encloses the
separation of several search terms by a semicolon which has already been
mentioned earlier (see Search Term) as well as the new list that will
allow you to collect items.

- Search fo one or more items.
- Mark the items within the list you want to add to the collection.

- The collection with the items will be displayed on the right side.
- Repeat the process as often as needed.
- Klick the Select button as soon as you want the items of the collection to be taken over.
Tip: As soon as there is one item on the collection board further items can be added by a doubleclick or by drag & drop.

- Press the Delete on your keyboard.
